Welcome Joe Velleman, HVAC Specialist - April 2010
Mid-City Supply is proud to announce the recent hire of Joe Velleman as our new HVAC Specialist at our central distribution center in Elkhart, Indiana. With over 17 years of HVAC experience, Joe will be working primarily with the commercial HVAC business at Mid-City Supply. Joe's experience in the industry includes positions as a maintenance technician, wholesale counter sales, outside sales, and management. To compliment Joe's expertise in commercial HVAC sales and design, Mid-City is excited to announce they will be stocking Luxaire and Coleman packaged rooftop units from 3 to 10 tons along with economizers and roofcurbs beginning in Spring of 2010.

Mid-City Helps Neighbors in Need - December 2009
The employees of Mid-City Supply Co., Inc. joined together this holiday season for a special collection to help neighbors in need. Already supporters of the United Way, Habitat for Humanity, and other local charitable organizations, Mid-City associates responded positively to a request from the Salvation Army for "personal care baskets". The employees assembled over 20 baskets full of household and personal items like laundry detergent, dish soap, toothbrushes, and shampoo. Many of the baskets were given to fellow colleagues who are struggling this year due to the downturn in the economy and layoffs. The rest of the baskets were given to the Salvation Army to distribute to local families in need.

Mid-City Supply Supports United Way - November 2009
Mid-City Supply and its associates have pledged almost $18,000.00 in support of the United Way agencies in our local communities. The 2010 pledge campaign theme, LIVE UNITED, created a common goal: Each person doing their part to help others, confident in the knowledge that when they need it, someone else will be reaching out a hand to them. Mid-City's core values of Optimism, Responsibility, Respectfulness, and Cooperation are evident in the generosity of our associates and their continued commitment to the United Way.
Even in the midst of the current economic crisis, Mid-City is pleased to announce an average per-person pledge of $240. Mid-City Supply is consistently recognized for supporting the United Way and appears in the list of Top 50 companies for pledges in Elkhart County. In addition, 5 employees of Mid-City Supply are recognized as leadership givers by the United Way.

2008 Toys for Tots Drive - December 2008
On Sunday, December 6th Mid-City Supply delivered 10 overflowing boxes of toys and over $300 in cash donations to the WNDU Channel 16 Toys For Tots Drive at Concord Mall in Elkhart, IN. Toys and donations were collected the week prior during our annual Customer Appreciation Holiday Hog Roasts. Thank you to all of our customers and associates that contributed to this cause. This would not have been possible without your generous donations and support.

Habitat for Humanity of Elkhart County to sponsor a house for the Adams family
of
"In celebration of our 60th anniversary, we wanted a way to say thanks to our community for the success we've enjoyed. One of our associates suggested we build a Habitat house, and it was a perfect fit," said Jeff New, President of Mid-City Supply. "The project has been enthusiastically received by our associates, customers and vendors. All have volunteered to help. I am excited that we are able to make this important contribution to our community."
Dave and Michelle Adams currently live with their five children of ages 1, 5, 8, 16 and 17 years old. The family is very excited about their new home and five year old daughter Breanna, has already written a book called "My New House" with pictures of each family member inside. For Dave, this Habitat home is very important. "Going through a bank we wouldn't be able to afford a loan. It's a big relief because we're able to afford a house." Families purchasing a Habitat home are required to contribute 250 hours of "sweat-equity" per adult in building other Habitat homes as well as their own.
Plans for the 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house will include many "Green" products including Energy Star appliances, energy and water saving products, and in-floor heating with stained concrete floors.

Mid-City Supply plans to partner with Walmers' loyal customer base by offering a wider breadth of product and available inventory and a variety of value-added services. Some of those services include Web Order Entry, guaranteed inventory of most popular items, faster will-call service, and guaranteed order accuracy. Mid-City Supply also offers a variety of promotions and events to their customers throughout the year including Truckload Sale events, monthly sale flyers, and various trip incentives. Their current trip promotion is a 6 night Western Caribbean Cruise scheduled for January 2007. Over 200 customers and guests are expected to qualify for this trip.

Mid-City Supply Co. Inc. was selected as the 2005 "Business of the Year" by the Michiana Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management. The "Business of the Year" award recognizes one area employer who has demonstrated a commitment to advancing the Human Resources Profession and who has made outstanding contributions to their employees and the community. Mid-City Supply Co., Inc. was selected from over 150 represented employers in the Michiana area.
